My favorite Cinco De Mayo go to is chips & my famous home made guacamole! Not only is this good treat for celebrating on May 5th but it is also a great snack after a long, lazy beach day on Anna Maria Island. Combine your guacamole with a freshly blended frozen margarita and you have a match made in taste bud heaven!
- 3 ripe avocados
- Juice of 2 lemons
- 1 tomatoe diced
- 1 tsp chili flakes
- 1 dash hot sauce
- 2 pinches sea salt
Pit avocados and roughly blend with a fork. Add the remaining ingredients and blend until you reach desired consistency. Place finished guacamole in a bowl and surround bowl with your favorite tortilla chips. For extra spice add a pinch of chili flakes to top as a garnish.
Frozen Margarita Recipe:
- 5 cups ice cubes
- 3/4 cup tequila, preferably silver
- 2/3 cup fresh lime juice (from 5 to 6 limes)
- ½ cup simple syrup
- 1/3 cup coarse salt
- 1 lime wedge, plus more for serving
Puree ice, tequila, lime juice, and simple syrup in a blender until smooth. Pour salt onto a saucer, and moisten the rims of 4 glasses with lime wedge. Dip each glass into salt, and fill with margaritas. Serve with lime wedges & Enjoy on your balcony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.
